Here’s Our Story
The original Don’s restaurant opened in 1934 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Since that time, many other seafood restaurants have been developed and operated by this pioneering group of four brothers, Don, Ashby, Willie and Roland, and their sister, Lily. In 1973, Don Landry’s two sons opened the Don’s Seafood Hut in Lafayette and later in partnership with other family members, opened the second and third Huts in Metairie and Denham Springs, Louisiana.
In recent years, the second and third generations of the Landry family and staff are operating the Don’s restaurants. These younger members have been working hard to continue the tradition, freshness, quality, food and service Don’s is famous for.
Our newest Don's in Gonzales opened April 2009. Now Don's has six locations - Metairie, Lafayette, Hammond, Denham Springs, Gonzales and Baton Rouge.
